Move more, Stress less
Most people think taking a break from the desk to get some fresh air or get the blood flowing through the body is a bad idea.
Unlike hydration, you don’t have to think about much when deciding to get up and move. If you can’t feel your legs, that’s a pretty good indicator that you should try moving a little.
People move in different ways in the workplace. Some go the toilet, coffee machine or printer route to make it seem like they’re busy doing something. Nobody wants to be caught off-guard caring for themselves and making sure they are in optimal condition.
Companies may try to promote their desk jobs by advertising ‘benefits’ like acupuncture foot-stools or ‘really comfy chairs’ with ‘lumbar support’. These little accessories don’t answer the problem, they delay the effects of that problem, but not by much.
So, rather than causing the blood flow to be cut-off to the legs, take a little stroll every time you have a break.
So, want to work past the stress? Start moving those limbs, or you’ll lose them.
