Think before you Act (Arguments)
The office can be an intense environment so it’s only natural for fights to break out. Why do people start verbally abusing each-other?
Little disputes are common since everyone thinks differently. Though little disputes are quick to resolve, these ones just become full blown arguments.
Arguments disrupt workflow and that can cause everyone to have to work overtime to catch up. If you’re not in the argument, are you on the sidelines watching how it all unfolds or are you too scared to present a solution because you fear the argument will centre on you?
Companies tend to promote facts about their workforce saying they’re friendly, approachable and considerate. How does someone stay considerate when the new employee continues to make the same mistakes? Don’t they become irritated?
Don’t want to be the argument? Listen to both sides and formulate a solution. It may only be a temporary one, but at least it will resolve some of the combativeness between the two parties.
Alternatively, take the role of the more mature person and present a choice to those who are arguing, either come to a resolution on your own or management will be contacted to give a solution that may not appeal to either party.
